Help required with our new NRC members on Monday evenings
Nick and I would like to express our thanks to everyone who has helped out with the recent adult L2R classes – it was very much appreciated.  Officially the L2R course has ended but we will be continuing with coaching for this cohort on Monday evenings from 18h15 –20h15 for the foreseeable future. We have a very enthusiastic and capable group and it would be great if more volunteers can come forward to help out on Monday evenings in June. Please let me know if you can help (colwyn.thomas@uea.ac.uk), even if it’s just one session.

Good luck to all those racing at Peterborough this weekend.

Update from the Men’s Squad (thanks Carl)
Please fill in availability sheet for June.

Please welcome Avishek Sodhi to NRC – he is starting with the men’s squad this week. He hasn’t been rowing for a while but is very determined to be successful. He used to row to a high level in India and was part of the national squad.

Also Robert Groves who started rowing for Lincoln University this year will be rowing with the men’s squad this summer. If you see them around please make them feel welcome.

EMSS dates for June (thanks Harry)
Tues 2nd, Wed 10th, Thurs 18th, Tues 23rd, Tues 30th

Womens/Junior NRC Retro Kit
We have been given some old but good condition NRC womens retro kit from an ex member – it is great looking. Rowburst and Godfrey – we think 1999-2000. How about offers for it for club funds. Just send me an email with your offer for anything or for details. We have three short sleeved tops (these are women’s small) and two AIOs (these are women’s medium). Would be great for training to look rowing cool.

Join NRCCC!!!!!
The Norwich Rowing Club Cycling Club has been created for those affiliated to the rowing club to join. No membership fees or anything of that sort. The role of this club is still being defined, but it could at the moment be called more of a forum for cycling enthusiasts to sort out going for a bike ride together, the promise of rowing conversation and banter as they go. Either for cross training (giving the blistered hands time to heal), or just for enjoyment and fun. Thus far there have been 2 rides organised, one by Graham, one by Ed.

If you wish to join us and organise your own ride, or join in with one organised by someone else, search on facebook for “Norwich Rowing Club Cycling Club”

UEA Picnic
The UEA BC will be holding their end of year picnic in front of the new boathouse on Wednesday 3 June from 6-11pm.  This should not impact on any other rowing or canoeing activities on this date but there will be more people than usual at the site on that evening.

Please be aware of this event.
