Women’s Masters Squad

Women’s Masters Squad

The Masters Women’s rowing squad caters for the more senior veteran women up to all ages. We welcome women of all abilities.

If you are a complete beginner we suggest you try a taster session.  If that goes well then sign up for a “ Learn to Row “ course – further details can be found on the Learn To Row page.

Perhaps you would like to return to rowing after a break ? Many of our members have taken it up again after a 20-30 year ( Did I say 30 ? ) absence. You may already be an accomplished rower in which case email us and tell us about your experience and we will arrange for a suitable outing for you.

the yareRowing is a fantastic way to keep fit. Many people come to rowing after years of other sporting activities that have lead to injuries. Rowing is probably the best all-round exercise you can have with the added bonus of being surrounded by picturesque scenery. It’s a wonderful way to get acquainted with our Norfolk rivers.

There are opportunities for every-one in rowing – from those that just want to row recreationally to keep fit and enjoy the scenery to those that want to row competitively. We enter summer regattas and winter head races and take the opportunity to compete in the races on the Thames.

After the Learn to Row Course you will be invited to join the Foundation Squad. This takes place on a Sunday morning at 10.15am and will be lead by one of our coaches.

From there you can come and join the Masters women’s squad and we will aim to team you up with women of similar abilities and aspirations. There are women’s veterans boats going out most Saturday and Sunday mornings at 8am and during the summer on Wednesday evenings at 6pm. During the winter you can join us for indoor ergo sessions and circuit training on weekday evenings. You can do as much or as little as you like but be warned its very addictive !
