Henley Fawley Cup Report

hrr4After receiving the news that we had pre qualified for the Fawley Challenge Cup, we were drawn against Thames Rowing Club. Over this season we had raced against Thames so we would have a close race.

We travelled down on the Monday morning to spend as much time on the water as possible as  quad member Toby Trett had not encountered the type of course before. Other crew; Ed Youngs, Tom Scales and Seb Matthews had experience from the previous year but utilised the time in trying to acclimatise to the high temperatures.

Come race day we were delayed by the event before having to be restarted. Once on the stake boats both crews had a quick start but Thames lead by 1/2 length. Despite may efforts we were unable to push ahead resulting in a loss of 1 1/4 lengths.

We would like to thank Norwich R.C for the support at Henley as well as at home. But also to Katy Knowles for her coaching
